1975年9月12日横浜市生まれ。
3歳の時よりクラシックピアノのレッスンを開始する。
小学校5年の時、鳥取県米子市に移る。
中学１年生よりジャズピアノのレッスンを受ける。
中学高校生時代はジャズコンテストで多数の賞を受賞する。

慶應義塾大学環境情報学部に進学する。のちに中退。
ピアニストの佐山雅弘氏（現ミューザ川崎ホールアドヴァイザー他）に師事しつつ、
本格的な音楽活動を開始する。
当時バークリー音楽大学の副学長（のちに学長）である、世界的ヴィブラフォン奏者である、ゲイリー・バートン氏の直々の推薦で、奨学生として迎えられるが様々なタイミングが合わず、渡米を断念、国内での精進を誓う。
97年6月に初のソロアルバム「SHIGERU」（廃盤）をリリース。
98年、スイングジャーナル誌において次世代を担うジャズマンと紹介される。
98年1月16日に2枚目のアルバム「Over The Silence」をリリース。
99年8月より綾戸智絵（ヴォーカル）グループに参加、
バンドリーダー、ピアニスト、ハモンドオルガンプレイヤーとして
全国のコンサート及びレコーディングを支えた（04年まで）。
00年4月よりNHK教育放送で放映された「みんなの広場だワンパーク」に音楽監督、ピアノのお兄さんとして参加、テーマソングを提供し話題となる（現在は引退）

01年10月21日に3枚目のアルバム「Transmind」（ewcd-0042）を
イーストワークスエンタティメントより全国発売。
オリジナル曲がフジテレビ系「あいのり」やさまざまな番組に挿入され
話題を呼ぶ。
04年3月には「Transmaind」が韓国のSTOMP-MUSIC社より発売される。 ソウル市での発売記念コンサートに多数のファンが詰め掛ける。
ヒーリング音楽のチャート（ダウンロード）では週間、月間ともに最高2位を記録し 日韓の国境を越えた幅広い活動を続けている。

（余談）なお同アルバムのジャケットは韓国ＫＢＳのＴＶドラマ「春のワルツ」で舞台となる音楽事務所の壁に拡大してオブジェとして飾られ、ほぼ毎回画面に登場した。主演のソ・ドヨン王子に私のオリジナルを弾いてもらえなかったのがちょっぴり悲しい。私が当時絶対にチャートで抜けなかった、同じレコード会社所属の超人気ピアニストのイルマが音楽を担当して、実際に出演もしている。私もがんばろうと思う。

04年9月にニューヨーク「クラヴィアハウス」でイタリア製のスーパーピアノ、ファッツオリを弾いて、アメリカソロデビューコンサート。
以後、マリアナ女史（ジュリアード音楽院ピアノ講師）に師事。
05年NY、リンカーンセンター内ローズスタジオで現地の5人のピアニストと2台ピアノでの即興コンサートに出演し、共演したジュリアード音楽院の教授より即興の講座の開催をその場で頼まれる程、絶賛される。
以後、不定期ではあるがＮＹでの様々なコンサート活動を継続している。
06年1月、気鋭のヴァイオリニスト真部裕とユニット「ANOVIO」を結成、
デビューアルバム「energy」を4月に発売。全国ツアー。
06年6月、ＮＹカーネギーホール、クルト・ヴァイルホールにてＮＹ赤十字社のチャリティーコンサートにゲストで招かれる。主催者である宮崎せりな（ソプラノ・黒人霊歌歌手）氏とは、オペラやスペイン歌曲、黒人霊歌などのレパートリーを中心にしたコンサートを現在も日米で続けている。
07年2月、石川県七尾市にて、モントレージャズフェスティバルイン能登の主催で日本ジャズ教育サミットプレ大会を実施。プロデュースとパネルディスカッションのコーディネート、翻訳を務める。多数の音楽関係者、文化庁、国会議員等が全国より集まり盛況を博す。

07年9月、アメリカ・カリフォルニア州のモントレーで行われた
第５０回モントレージャズフェスティバルに自己のクインテットで出演し
６００人の観客（入場制限が出た）のスタンディングオベーションを受け
アメリカメディアの取材も殺到し、一躍話題となる。
08年３月全国公開の映画「ポストマン」（長嶋一茂　主演・企画）
の音楽を担当し、映画音楽家としても活動をスタート。
ピアノ演奏、美しいストリングスアレンジ他で、注目を浴びる。


09年4月、指導していた中高生ビッグバンド、石川ジュニアジャズアカデミーが結成３年目にして、アメリカ西海岸最大の学生ジャズコンテストであるネクスト・ジェネレーション・フェスティバルに、日本のバンドとして初の本選出場を果たし、入賞は逃すものの観客のスタンディングオベーションを受ける。

09年5月よりアメリカ、artist share社の契約アーテイストとなり、本格的に世界に向けた発信を計画中。　http://www.artistshare.com/

09年４月、新潟県魚沼市市制５周年事業として「市民の歌」制定事業を託され、作詞家の喜多條忠（神田川の作詞他でヒットを飛ばす）とタッグを組み「魚沼市民の歌、魚沼元気」を作編曲、チェリッシュが歌を担当するという豪華チームで話題となる。また同曲を混声４部合唱に編曲したヴァージョンも話題になる。

現在はフリーで様々なアーティストのサポートを中心に、ソロピアノコンサート、セッションプレーヤー、自己のバンド、様々なスタイルでの作編曲、映画音楽、スタジオワーク 、ゴスペルクワイヤーの指導、
街づくりのための文化事業のプロデュース、特に中高生へのジャズ・吹奏楽の指導、ジュニアジャズバンドのプロデュースには力を注いでおり、全国を飛び回っての指導・ゲスト演奏のオファーが絶えない。

日本、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、アジアと世界を視野に入れた音楽活動を展開している。

Born in September 12, 1975 Yokohama.
The lesson of a classic piano is started from the time of 3 years old.
It moves to Yonago city, Tottori at the time of elementary school fiveyears.
At the time of junior high school one year,"Autumn Leaves" is heard with friends, and it wakes up to jazz.The lesson of a jazz piano is begun with the vigor.

It knows each other with many musicians through activity in a livehouse, and the participation to a contest in the meantime.
In the 10th and a 11 times Asakusa jazz contest, it is Special JuryPrize.A Naoya Matsuoka prize is awarded in the 1st Mazda Motor International jazz competition.

It goes on to why or the Keio University environment informationfaculty after graduating from a Tottori prefectural Yonago east highschool.
Full-scale musical activities are started studying under the pianist(Ponta-box etc. under activity), Mr. Masahiro Sayama.
In the meantime, regardless of a genre, a wide range of activities,such as a self trio and a studio work, are performed with variousmusicians.
He becomes acquainted with Mr.Gary Burton, a global vibraphoneplayer, although chosen as the scholarship student of the Barkleycollege of music, a visit to America is given up for various reasons,and it decides to continue activity in Japan.
The first solo album SHIGERU was released in June, 97.
It will be introduced for 98 years with the jazz man who bears thenext generation in the Swing Journal.
It became the center of attention in every direction which announcedthe album Over The Silence of the 2nd sheet on January 16, 98.
It has participated in a national concert and recording as a front man,a pianist, and a Hammond organ player from August, 99 participationat the Chie Ayado (vo) group.
April, 00 -- the NHK educational broadcasting -- under televising -- it is everybody's forum -- one park -- musical director, Participation and a theme song are offered as an elder brother of a piano, and itbecomes the center of attention.(It returns to normal musical lifenow)
October 21, 01 -- the albumTransmind (ewcd-0042) of the 3rd sheet Eastworks entertainment -- national sale.original music -- the FujiTelevision system -- it suits, and is inserted in paste or various programs, and subject is called.

Power is directed also towards solo performance, and the concert for a child ,an arrangement, composition for film and TV comercial and educating ,gospel concert,several event producing now.

Transmind determines sale in March, 04 from South Korean STOMP-MUSIC.
It got 2nd prise of Healing music sales chart.

A wide range of activities beyond the border are expected.

Sep 2004,had a debut solo concert in NY at KLAVIAHOUSE.

Nov 2005,had a concert with 5 improvise pianists at Lincoln CenterRose Studio of Chamber Music Society.

Jun 2006 , performedat Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall ,with YuManabe (violin) ,for a concert called The Gift of Music Benefit for The American Red Cross PRESENTED BY SELINA MIYAZAKI.

22th Sep.2007,performed at 50thannual Monterey Jazz Festival as Shigeru Morishita Quintet.Got standing obeysion from the audience.Many press came to have interviews and photo sessions.

05th Apr.2009,as a music director of Ishikawa Junior Jazz Academy,conducted for the band in Next Generation Festival,produced by Monterey Jazz Festival,for the member of Finalists.No Japanese bands performed at NGF such as before.
